For the more inquisitive and academically-minded amongst you I thought it that this would be a good  time to introduce a bit of history. But don't worry, nothing too serious.

Theatre of Travesti was created by two actors and musicians, Stanislav Suknenko and Philip Sutcliffe in 2000. The intention was to perform original music theatre pieces and use these as a vehicle to produce good quality and aesthetic "travesty" performances.

Our first major show "Not So Ladylike" was produced at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield in November of that year and then again, in a revised version, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2001. For both of these occasions we were fortunate to engage the internationally acclaimed performer and singer Georgie Philips, who, in her own words, gave the performances "a certain Je-ne-sais-quoi!".
